As the world’s top designers showcased their collections on runways from New York to Paris, Fall 2024 is shaping up to be a season of bold statements, rich textures, and versatile pieces. But how do you take these high-fashion trends and incorporate them into your everyday wardrobe? Let’s break down the top 5 key trends and how you can make them work for you, whether you're heading to the office, a casual outing, or a weekend getaway.

1. Refined Elegance.

As the world becomes more conscious about environmental issues, textiles and are becoming conscious spenders we are seeing a return to refined dressing. Finally the y2k street styles are disappearing and we are seeing women return to what is dubbed the “debutant dressing”. Think shift dresses, gloves, pearl necklaces, hemlines till the knees and Jackie Kennedy style sunglasses.

Incorporate the refined elegance in your everyday looks by switching your chunky jewelry for pearl necklaces, textured weave tops and lower hemlines. We are moving away from tight fitted jeans and crop tops (phew!).

2. Fabrics and Capes.

Nothing says luxury like walking down the street with a cashmere cape draped around you, or an oversized shawl. Fashion is still borrowing from the 50s, 60s, 70s and occasionally 80s. Think checked ponchos styled with a bow in the hair, past the elbow gloves and you would be competing with Emily from Emily in Paris.

Incorporate the cape trend into your wardrobe by throwing a tweed cape over your everyday staples and minimizing your accessories. This season less accessories are more.

3. Feathers and Fur.

Feathers are everywhere this season; trimmings on hems, on your accessories, your sleeves or your entire outfit. A true fashionista knows the importance of flair and drama while commanding the room and this season; feathers are your dramatic piece.

Incorporate this major fall trend into your everyday wear by pairing it with faux furs and novelty fabrics. A chic pants-suit can be accessorized with an oversized feather fur coat.

4. Victorian Boho.

A dominant trend we saw sweeping the runways led by fashion label Chloé. Followers of style icon Rachel Zoe and Laguna Beach fans always loved the ruffle tops, chiffons paired with denims and seeing it make a comeback incorporating all the fall trends will make you shop the entire Chloé collection. Boho is back but just in a more sophisticated adult way.

Incorporate this trend into your everyday wardrobe by investing into a chiffon ruffle blouse or dress and tuck it in your boots or wear it over your not so skinny jeans. Think peaches and blushes for your top with darker colors at the bottom to balance your look out.

5. Burgundy Bags.

The burgundy purse trend is making a bold statement in fashion. This rich, deep hue is being embraced for its versatility and sophistication, effortlessly transitioning from day to night. Designers are incorporating this color into various purse styles, from classic handbags to chic crossbody bags and oversized totes. The Burgundy purse is the easiest way to add a bit of luxury to your existing wardrobe.
