Many of us have been enjoying the sunny days of a particularly hot summer (and some of us have surely been waiting for it to be over.) Now that we are starting to head into autumn and then winter, however, we can expect the chill to get just as over-the-top. As such, you might want to start looking early at the updates you need to make to your wardrobe to ensure you stay comfy, warm, and still fashionably cool.
Get your boots on
If you want something that’s practical and powerful at the same time, then a really good pair of winter boots is going to ensure just that. Over-the-knee boots, especially in black, look really cool on most women, while making sure that you stay warm and protected. Make sure that you take the time to ensure that they have decent waterproofing as well, as you don’t want to get caught out in the rain.

Switch up the accessories
Accessory trends are always changing, and the season tends to bring in some new options that might catch your eye. Alongside the classic scarves, balaclava hats are becoming all the rage, offering an old-school movie star silhouette to a comfy head covering. Leg warmers are also coming in in great fashion, especially good for those days when you don’t want to rock those long boots.
Utilize layers
You don’t have to throw out everything that worked in the past seasons, sometimes, a little recontextualization is all that it requires. If you have a a few all-year staples that you look good in, no matter what the lighting, then you can use them, you just might want to layer them with fitting pieces that can keep them warmer and more comfortable. This way, you don’t necessarily need to buy a whole host of new clothes, you can reuse where it’s wise.

Never underestimate the big comfy jumper
Layers can help you coordinate and mix and match a lot of looks, but when it comes to those really chilly days, sometimes you just need nothing more than a strong jumper. Look at the ladies fisherman sweater collection for a good example of the kind of comfort and thickness you need, but with plenty of design options to help keep things stylish. Match this up with the accessories and shoes mentioned above and you will have a rocking winter look.

Update your makeup too
When things get a lot cooler and the shades of nature turn from green to red and brown, it can be a perfect time to make sure that your makeup palette reflects that as well. A lot of women look great with a more natural makeup palette in those cooler seasons of the year since the sunlight isn’t there to really help those bold colors pop as much as before.
With the tips above, you can make sure that your look is ready for autumn and winter, and that you can stay comfy and cozy no matter what the seasons throw at you.
