6 Smart Tips
to Organize the Bathroom in a Stylish Way

Bathrooms are the real sanctuaries of every home. Here, you can relax, cool off, and refresh yourself properly before going about your day. It's also where we spend our days making sure we look presentable and clean.

For how important it is when it comes to looking fresh and clean, bathrooms themselves are often cluttered messes filled with hygiene and cleaning products. It’s about as organized as a yard sale. However, this doesn’t always have to be the case. There are ways of organizing your bathroom to make it look more presentable and attractive. Here are some great examples:

Hang some wire crates

Putting away small accessories is pretty difficult in any bathroom. There are tons of them and they can easily get lost if you place them on an open shelf or on the washing machine. The constant motion and your interference can easily cause them to fall and you end up having to put them back every other day.

Putting them in a closed holder, like the ones used for toothbrushes, doesn’t alleviate problems. In fact, it causes more of them. Moisture and random water droplets are abundant in bathrooms, and they get pretty much everywhere. This means any open holder will eventually accumulate dirt and moisture, causing mould to build-up on the bottom.

The obvious solution would be to remove the bottom from the equation entirely. You don’t need a completely solid surface to hold most accessories. You can just as easily put them in a wire crate and they’ll stay put till you need them.

Divide the drawers

There are very few kinds of drawers that can get as messy as bathroom drawers. It’s easy enough to organize them when you start off, but they eventually end up becoming a big mess of various bathroom accessories. It's easy to just throw in the grooming products that you use after getting up from your bed while feeling groggy and tired. You often get a junk drawer instead of something that should look a lot more organized.

If you need help categorizing items in your bathroom drawers, you might want to add some handy dividers. They can be quite useful when separating items of different shapes and sizes in your drawers. A couple of wooden boxes and trays might come in handy as well. They’re available in all sorts of shapes and sizes, meaning you can find the right one for any set of items that you use regularly.

Use a ladder

Out of all the unconventional things you can utilize for bathroom organization, ladders probably take the cake. After all, they're mostly used for reaching some awkward vertical spaces, not for keeping things tidy and well-organized.

However, you would be surprised at how well a small aesthetic ladder can go with the look and feel of your bathroom. An apple-picking ladder can have multiple functions in the room. You prop it on the wall and use it to store towels on every one of its rungs. It's very convenient because it allows towels to dry without touching each other, while also being conveniently placed on the wall.

Alternatively, you could integrate the ladder into the wall. Add a couple of shelf-like addons to the ladder rungs and treat them as a small cupboard. It will help you keep some of your shower essentials close and conveniently spaced.

Keep the bottles uniform

With all the different hair washing and care products that are necessary for day-to-day life, it’s no wonder that organizing them all is so difficult. You have a bunch of different bottles in your shower that all have distinct shapes and sizes which might not be compatible with typical hanging wires. You can reasonably expect them to fall at least once or twice every time you try to wash your hair. It’s an inconvenience that you can take care of rather easily, though.

As strange as it may seem, you might not have to deal with unique bottles for every hair care product. You can always put them in uniform bottles instead. They fit more neatly in any kind of storage you have and they’ll look a lot nicer placed on any shelf or hanging wire. It’s a pretty simple solution that might not even require pouring the substance from one container to another. You could simply place the whole thing in a slightly bigger container and use it as such.

Identifying each bottle shouldn’t be much of an issue, either. Get a different coloured bottle for each and every hair product and you should be set. Just make sure you remember which colour represents which hair care product. On the other hand, even if you do make a mistake, you certainly won’t make the same mistake again! If your memory doesn’t serve you well, you can even label the bottles to differentiate them. This will allow you to keep a relatively uniform colour scheme as well.

Declutter unnecessary elements

Bathrooms are filled to the brim with a wide variety of items that are both inconvenient and incredibly essential. It’s almost guaranteed that you’ll have some degree of clutter in your bathroom at any point of the day. This is where you’ll keep a lot of your essential cleaning and hygiene products, which means you can never be too far from them. They often fill the edges of bathtubs or bathroom sinks, leaving the bathroom looking like a cluttered mess.

It’s high time to prioritize which products should be left hanging around and which should be put aside. If there isn’t enough storage in your bathroom to declutter, you might want to change that. Try to find attractive bathroom vanities that have enough space to store your bathroom essentials and products, while still being aesthetic enough to not look out of place. Clear the clutter from your bathroom surfaces and you’ll find that it will become a lot easier to manage.

Plus, it’s also going to significantly improve the look of the space. The aesthetic benefit of this bathroom addition shouldn’t be underestimated. It’s hard to keep a sleek and minimalistic look in your bathroom when it’s cluttered with colourful bottles full of chemicals. Keeping them locked away will make room for a much more attractive view and it will keep pets and children safe from harm.

Keep a handy roll holder

Toilet paper is one of the most essential hygiene elements in your bathroom. It's something that needs to be replaced regularly, which means it needs to be close enough to reach in critical situations. Because of this, people often keep a few rolls on hand, putting the bag of rolls close to their sink and toilet. This isn't a very efficient solution and it keeps these areas feeling cluttered.

Instead of keeping the plastic bag of toilet rolls in the bathroom, you could always replace it with a sleeker, more attractive solution. A lot of modern bathroom designers recommend using a toilet paper roll holder. It might seem like a silly concept, but you would be surprised at how effective it can be at saving space. A clear vase with the right thickness can keep the toilet paper within grabbing distance while not compromising the look of the space. The taller it is, the more rolls you can stack, which might be beneficial when you don’t want to replace them often.

Properly organizing your bathroom isn’t such a difficult task when you get down to it. All it takes is a bit of ingenuity and some creative design. A couple of building materials can come in handy as well. Try some of these ideas on your bathroom and you’ll find that it will become a lot easier to manage than it was before.
