Monday the 18th begins the week with Opening Gala night, where designer previews on the runway will unveil a sensational selection of looks from collections to be showcased throughout the week. La Salle College (BC) will present the latest upcoming student talent from Vancouver, and full lines by creative balloon designer Emi Jingu (Japan), and minimalist YONFA (Japan) make a strong start to the FW19 season.

Tuesday’s lineup kicks off with Mel Elegance (BC) showcasing soft and elegant womenswear juxtaposed with bold eccentricity from Profanity by LillzKillz (BC). Ajour (Ukraine) will present luxurious lingerie and RadaStyle (Belarus) will bring their striking modern femininity to the runway. To end the night, CRAZYYABAI (BC) will return to Vancouver Fashion Week with their experimental designs.

Wednesday will be a night to highlight the local talents from Vancouver and Canada as a whole. An array of Canadian brands including locals Jae Esmane (BC), Blood Moon (BC), SOOJINU (BC) are in the mix with those from further afield such as Nöelziñia (ON), and yung_alexander (ON).

Friday’s shows take us into the weekend with experimental unisex, urban streetwear from Ization Studio (BC) and beautiful designs inspired by Canada’s Coast Salish peoples from Ay Lelum-The Good House of Design (BC). Emelia's Swimwear (BC), a high-quality, comfortable and stylish collection will be followed by Chen Pin-Yu’s (Taiwan) debut. HAMON (Japan) will close the night with their thoughtfully designed, recycled collection that is inspired by the universal, human theme of transformation and reincarnation.

On Saturday first to hit the runway will be a line of experimental designs by BC local Ryan Li followed by Notre Décès (ON), an avant-garde collection. Eco Chic Design Award winner, PAT GUZIK (Poland) will proceed US designer Jessture’s collection of casual womenswear. Evan Clayton (BC) is set to stun with his theatrical collection while margot (Japan) will do away with limitations through a collection of one-size, free-flowing dresses. Finally, Sunny’s Bridal Gallery (BC) will be showcasing their latest collection of contemporary and traditional South Asian bridal and eveningwear to end the inspirational evening.

Sunday’s lineup kicks off with the scandalous, hyper-sexualized designs of Haus of Zuk (BC) which contrasts against Blossom Sunday’s (France) romantic and whimsical collection. C'EST D’s (US) playful and size-inclusive lineup, Carmen Llaguno’s (Mexico) spiritually inspired pieces and Arlo’s luxury Australian womenswear will celebrate the many facets of stylish femininity. Jessica Chang Studio’s (US) hand-dyed designs will proceed BC local Alex S. Yu’s exploration of childhood, nostalgia and wanderlust in a modern and quirky way; a fitting and illustrative end to Vancouver Fall / Winter Fashion Week 2019.
