Getting older is a good thing, despite the fact that many people believe that aging will rob them of their health and beauty overnight. Embracing your age and living every day to the fullest will make you content and happy, and this will show on the outside too. Still, we would all like to look as young as we feel which is why we try different tricks in order to keep our youthful looks. If you’re hoping to look like you’ve turned the clock back, here’s how you can do it.
Protect your skin
Your skin is where aging signs show the most: when we notice spots, blemishes, and fine wrinkles, it makes us feel older than we are. Protecting your skin is one of the most important things you can do to keep your youthful looks for a long time, and using sunscreen is the best way to do so. It doesn’t matter if you’re just going to the store or you’re planning on sending the afternoon in the park, you should apply sunscreen with SPF of at least 15, but preferably higher. In addition to this, you should also wear a wide-brimmed hat that will protect both your face and your neck. Exfoliate regularly with a gentle scrub, as this will remove dead skin cells and leave your skin soft and supple.
Drink more water
We should drink at least eight glasses of water per day, as it’s important for our skin as well as our internal organs. When you’re dehydrated your lips and skin become dry and parched, and you can even experience severe headaches. Having a water bottle with you and drinking from it all day will help you feel energetic and refreshed. In addition, drinking water first thing in the morning will also boost your metabolism, making it easier to lose a few pounds. If you live in a warmer climate and you’re very active, you should drink at least two liters of water per day.
Take vitamins and supplements
There are people who won’t hesitate to undergo surgery in order to look younger, but there are many diet-based solutions that will help you keep not only your youthful looks but your health as well. Vitamins A and B are great for your skin, and you can get it from carrots, apricots, soy, mushrooms, eggs and broccoli, or you can try vitamin supplements every day. You can also try using curcumin supplements daily to ensure you have glowing skin, and when you combine them with turmeric face masks, you’ll get excellent results. What is more, turmeric and curcumin are great for reducing inflammation and joint pain.
Wear less makeup
When we start noticing the first signs of aging, our first instinct might be to cover them up with makeup, but it would be the wrong move. Foundation and lipstick can seep into the fine wrinkles around the eyes and the mouth and it can actually draw attention to the imperfections, rather than mask them. Going for a natural look is a better idea, and wearing less makeup will allow your skin to breathe. A tinted moisturizer or a sheer powder will improve the way your skin looks without clogging your pores. If you don’t want to stop wearing makeup altogether, you might want to try quality products such as mineral makeup.
Also, don’t forget about quality skincare. You have to nurture your skin, and the best way to do that is by using natural cosmetics. For example, since Aussies are famous for their ecological awareness, you can expect high-quality, eco-friendly products from brands offering great natural skin care in Australia. So read the labels, and make sure that the products you use are made out of natural ingredients and that they’re free of harmful chemicals.

Exercise regularly
Regular exercise will do wonders for your figure, mood, and your overall health, and you won’t even have to go to the gym. Exercising for at least half an hour a day three days a week will help improve your mood and you’ll lose weight too. Going for a long walk around the park with a friend is a good idea, but also exercises that will make you use multiple muscle groups at the same time such as dancing and swimming are also a good idea. Taking your dog for a 20-minute walk twice a day is also a good way to keep fit and healthy, as is doing yoga in the morning.
If you think that getting older is the worst things that could ever happen to you, you will probably be unhappy as you age, and this dissatisfaction will also show. Keep your attitude positive, embrace the changes you see and experience, and always try to stay happy and healthy. When you think positive thoughts and aren’t bothered by your age, this carefree attitude will make you appear years younger than you are.
