Most people don’t think that your hair deserves the same level of care and attention as you would devote to your skin. Unfortunately, the harsh conditions we face each day means that our hair is aging at a significantly faster rate than ever before. There are certain things that are causing damage to your hair that you would never have considered before. This includes pollutants in the air, dry weather and the kind of products you are using on your hair. You can visit Authority Health for more research-based articles to learn more.

Avoid Washing Your Hair Every Day

How much thought do you put into your daily hair care routine? Most people follow the instructions on the back of their shampoo bottles and leave it at that. Research has shown that most people are washing their hair far too often. Washing your hair daily with a rich shampoo and conditioner means that you are stripping your hair of its vital oils. This results in hair which is dry and brittle. Shampoos also strip your scalp of its natural oils which could lead to the development conditions like dandruff. Instead, you should be washing your hair every second day with a shampoo that is free of sulfates, sodium chloride, and formaldehyde. For those days on which you aren’t washing your hair, a dry shampoo is a good option. This keeps you looking fresh without doing more damage to your hair.

Change Up The Order In Which You Wash Your Hair

Making a simple change to your hair washing routine may be the key to glossier and healthier looking hair. A new craze in hair care is called reverse washing. This is when you apply conditioner to your hair first and shampooing becomes the final step. So you end up washing any extra conditioner out of your hair when you wash it. This is a great idea as it provides your hair with all the moisturizing benefits of your conditioner but you are not left with hair that is greasy and weighed down.

Consider Doing A Hair Cleanse

One of the main culprits of hair that looks limp and lifeless is a build up of hair products. Most of the hair products we use are overly rich and are never fully removed from the hair shaft. The most effective way to remedy this is by completely cleansing your hair and scalp. A gentle manner in which to do this is to stop washing your hair for a few days. Instead of shampooing your hair in the bath, scrub your hair with a paste made of baking soda and water. Finally, use a rinse of 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water.

Take a Multivitamin

The condition of your hair is often a large indicator of the state of your health. If your body is receiving all the proper vitamins and nutrients that it needs, you really notice a difference in the quality and appearance not only of your hair but also the condition of your nails and skin. The vast majority of people are not getting everything they need from their diet alone. So you may be deficient in a number of vitamins and minerals without even being aware of it. Thankfully this is easily remedied by the inclusion of a multivitamin into your daily routine. This way you know that if you take the one or two required pills each day your body is receiving everything it needs with minimal effort from your side.

Drink Some Bone Broth

The practice of making and drinking bone broth has become increasingly popular in recent years. There is a good reason for this, bone broth contains many vital nutrients that could improve your health. The main benefit of including bone broth into your diet is that it is exceptionally rich in collagen. Collagen is great for your hair because it supports and increases the proteins in your body that are responsible for hair. Collagen also allows the body to grow hair which is stronger, that does not fall out and grows much faster. It does this by strengthening the hair follicles that are present in your scalp.
