Winter is here, and that means the time of the year has come again where we all drink a lot of egg-nog, buy gifts (as well as give, wrap, and unwrap them) and see a lot of our family members.

While doing all this, what will you rather be looking like?

It’s time for you to switch up your fashion style and get into clothes and shoes that are more trendy and appropriate for the weather, so let’s help you out:

Don’t Forget Color Theory

One thing that will save you a whole lot is if you get your coloring right this winter.

The color theory states that colors that are opposite to each other in the color wheel give the perfect pairing. In the same vein, colors that are next to each other on the color wheel will also be able to complement themselves. Be sure to have these rules in mind when combining your clothes and you’ll definitely have an edge with your fashion ensemble.

Step Up on Your Layering Game, Please

One of the reasons why winter is so loved is the fact that you get to wear some of the clothes that you don’t get the chance to don while in the summer. However, if you’re the type to still wear a lot of thin clothes (you know, the usual silk shirt, short gown, and all that), then you don’t necessarily have to fuss. Just layer them and you should be fine.

One advantage of layering in the winter is that unlike when in the summer, you don’t end up sweating out of your skin and you get to try various combinations. That being said, make sure that with your layering, you add a lot of color and style to your entire look.

There are a whole lot of classic layering styles that you can try (like just pairing a simple pullover on top of a buttoned shirt and throwing in a muffler and ending it with a pair of nice trousers), especially if you’re one to not experiment too much with your look.

However, if you’re into combinations and switching things up, please don’t be afraid to try different combinations. There is a wide array of layering strategies that you can try your hand at, and the world is quite literally your oyster.

Embrace The Winter Hat

Like it or not, winter hats are making a comeback this year, especially since they gained a lot of popularity a year or two ago. Forecasts predict a lot of snow and cold in the coming weeks, so it won’t be bad to have some stylish protection for your head.

Pull Out Your Leggings

You’ve got leggings, right? Then use them to flaunt your beautiful legs. Combine a pair of leggings with a short gown and cute ankle-high boots (or boots) and you should be ready to go. Just make sure that you’re warm and comfortable enough while in your leggings.
