Do you avoid parties and events because the idea of dressing up for the occasion, daunts you? It can be difficult to nail down the right look for the occasion which also provides a measure of comfort. Here is a quick hack to make a great first impression every time by keeping to these three simple steps:

Stick To One Colour

Mixing and matching colours can be confusing. It is subjective - colour combinations seen on the runway may not come across great on you. To avoid all that hassle, choose one colour and stick to it! Going for a wedding dinner in a swanky hotel? Black is best. Attending a friend’s baby shower? Go with a rose quartz coloured outfit.

Glam it up with statement jewelry and you are all set!

Blazer Over Anything

It is better to be overdressed than underdressed. While you are at it, keep it sophisticated and professional too. Go with a navy one. Bonus if it is a boxy cut and in a lightweight material. A breathable material makes it suitable for our humid weather and a structured silhouette allows you to dress it up or down anytime!

When in Doubt, Try Lace

Chic and sensual. No other material evokes it like lace. A lace dress is versatile and the key is picking the right kind to fit your needs. The wrong choice could be disastrous - no one wants to look like a tablecloth! Go with off-white or play around with colours. Look out for the hems and make sure it is not frayed. The last thing you want is part of your sleeve unravelling.

Now that you are armed with these tips, go forth and dress to impress! Whether it is for a date or an interview, with these you are ready to graduate to sleek and stylish.
