in Korean Fashion Now
Thanks to the Hallyu wave that has taken the world by storm, Korean pop culture is now one of the most highly observed ones with arguably the most rabid fan-base. From drama series to music, there's no stopping the K-wave.
Korean fashion is another major area that has earned a few eyeballs as fans seek to dress like their favourite celebrities. Plus, with Korean designers and supermodels gradually making their mark in the global fashion arena, South Korea is fast becoming known as one of the most stylish countries in the world.

Need some inspiration for the most up-to-date looks? Here's what's trending this season:
1. Gold
For an opulent touch, gold - be it in apparel or accessories - is an easy way to bring some sophistication to your look. Former Girls' Generation member and current creative director of Blanc&Eclare, Jessica Jung, is a pro at nailing this colour in her airport fashion. Gold goes well with all colours, especially neutrals such as white, navy, burgundy, and black.
You don't have to be decked out in gold from head to toe. A pop of gold is all you need. Many Korean fashionistas go for gold in their skirts, sweaters and coats, as well as shoes. It brings the ideal amount of glam to any outfit. For jewellery, you can opt for a statement necklace or clutch.

2. Military Print
Every season, we see a predominance of one type of print. In previous seasons, it was floral, animal, and now military prints are taking centrestage again. It's not new, of course. But thanks to its versatility, military print is making its way back onto all clothing items, accenting jackets, sweaters, pants, shoes, as well as accessories like scarves and backpacks.
Take note not to go overboard with the print, though. You don't want to look like you're actually in the army. One item, such as Sooyoung's jeans (below left) or Yoona's jacket (below right), is all you need for a rugged touch to your look.

3. Chunky Scarves
Scarves are a great accessory wherever you are, whatever the season. This season, go for chunky scarves. They add extra dimension to an outfit and allow you to play with textures. Versatile and convenient, this add-on can easily dress up a plain T-shirt and brighten up an outfit like Jessica did with her bright pink scarf and all-black ensemble. If you're wearing a printed top, keep your accessories neutral to make the print stand out.

4. Snapbacks
Street fashion is a huge trend in Korea now. While South Korean ladies still love their pretty frocks and high heels, the edgy look is becoming a hit among many Korean girls. Snapback caps, be they colourful or plain, are an easy way to punch up a look. Just look at Nana's cool looks below, in a studded snapback, paired with soft wavy hair, a sweater, or a red plaid shirt.
Aside from snapbacks, other popular options include hoodies, beanies, and even coloured headphones and skull and crossbones jewellery.

5. Patterned Stockings
The skirt/shorts and stocking combination is a quirky new look that gives the pantyhose a cool, modern update. Female Korean celebrities make stockings the statement piece of outfits with bold prints, patterns, and even slogans, such as 4Minute's HyunA did (below middle). Patterns can range from whimsical polka dots and hearts to designs that look like skin tattoos. Team your patterned stockings with snapbacks and sneakers like HyunA and Miss A's Jia (below left) did for a sporty look, or go with chunky platform boots for the ultimate rebel-chic look.

6. Platform Boots
Boots aren't just for fall and winter. This is a prevalent trend in many countries aside from Korea. Be it ankle boots like those worn by f(x)'s Victoria, riding boots, or knee-high boots, platform is the way to go now to pack an extra punch in your look. Not only does it fit into the military theme (see #2), they also edge up the most basic outfits.
