TORONTO, (JULY 8) – Startup Fashion Week (SFW), the world's only fashion week to focus on fashion, business and technology, will continue to celebrate, support and connect entrepreneurs in the fashion and fashion-tech industry here in Toronto. With the recent changes in the Toronto fashion community, SFW will more than ever strive to own and promote the convergence of fashion and fashion-tech in Canada.
"The Toronto fashion community shouldn’t worry about the lack of representation and exposure for emerging designers. Myself and other local organizations are already working hard to provide awareness and showcase opportunities in order to establish brand credibility, growth opportunities, and media exposure for entrepreneurs," says Jodi Goodfellow, Founder and Executive Producer of Startup Fashion Week. "It takes a community to build a business in fashion and I am committed to put efforts to recognize opportunities to strengthen the local economy and support fashion entrepreneurs."
SFW is in its 3rd year of production and will be back this year in Toronto from October 3rd to 7th as a week long program with a runway show featuring five startup designers, wearable tech and accessories startups as well as a segment to recognize 10 female entrepreneurs who have demonstrated ‘Startup Success’. Details will be updated on the website www.startupfashionweek.com and tickets are expected to go on sale in August.
