You have probably made a few New Year’s resolutions for 2016 and one of them might be to stay abreast of fashion trends. What if you had a trusty little helper in the form of a fashion app that allows you to stay informed of trends anytime, anywhere? With technology reinventing how we shop, it has never been easier to get notified of latest fashion news or an on-demand sale alert so we never have to pay full price again.

Here are a few style apps and services that are guaranteed to help you step up your fashion game:

1. SHOPSTYLE

This one is a must-have. ShopStyle is a top-rated price aggregator that not only collects millions of products from hundreds of brands, retailers, and stores, but also allows you to compare and purchase them from a personalised shopping feed. The best part? You never have to miss a sale again - if you like something that exceeds your budget, you can add it to your Sale Alerts and receive a notification when it goes on sale.

2. ASOS

Every fashionista’s friend, ASOS gives us our daily fix of the freshest styles off the runway. I have so much fun riffling through pages and pages of womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories, and jewellery for fashion inspiration. They have pretty attractive sales with items too (up to 70 percent off!), and on good days you might even receive an additional discount code in your inbox.

3. POPSUGAR

Aside from style-finder apps, we also cannot do without our latest fashion news. PopSugar brings content from various world-known magazines, websites and in-house writers under one roof. Be it which Jason Wu gown Michelle Obama wore or spring-cleaning hacks or fun facts about popular brands, you can find all that info within this app!

4. LOOKBOOK

LOOKBOOK is pretty similar to Pose, where users upload pictures of their outfits. However, I prefer LOOKBOOK for its sleek and minimalist user interface. It is a great platform for daily fashion inspiration or just finding out what people around the world are wearing. You can also join in the fun by posting your own outfits!

5. BLOGLOVIN’

Never miss a post from your favourite bloggers again! Bloglovin’ helps you to keep up with your favourite fashion, DIY, travel or food bloggers, YouTube vloggers, and discover new ones to follow. It's so much easier to read the latest posts from my favourite bloggers at one place, which makes for a great start to my mornings.

6. Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal is a lookbook in its own right. I just love the edgy and bold pieces expertly put together by their style divas. As its name suggests, it encourages young women to embrace edgy fashion unapologetically. If you want to take your sartorial game to the next level, Nasty Gal offers endless fashion ideas to get you started.

7. The Hunt

Dying to know where that fashion blogger got her outfit? In The Hunt, community members help each other find where to buy certain pieces and post direct shoppable links as well as cheaper alternatives. All you have to do is post the photo of the item you are looking for and get help from the prowess of the online fashion community.

8. LIKEtoKNOW.it

Until our favourite photo-sharing app is shopable, we are turning to LIKEtoKNOW.it to track down fashion pieces on Instagram. It does not offer an app but it is a handy Instagram shopping tool. What you have to do is like Instagram photos with liketk.it links and you will get an email with ready-to-shop product details.
