5 celebrity styles with New Balance shoes

Yeah, yeah. I know there are the big brands like Nike and Puma that toss in millions of dollars for one advertisement. But I'm just drawn to the quieter, less flashy brands like New Balance. They don't have large-scale advertisements or major celebrity endorsements, but A-listers love them all the same.

You're no stranger to the American footwear label. Founded in 1906 by a 33-year old British emigrant named William J. Riley, New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc. (NBAS), better known as simply New Balance, is based in Boston, Massachusetts. It was first known as the "New Balance Arch Support Company" and has become one of the world's major athletic footwear brands.

To differentiate their products from other brands in the market, New Balance developed shoes with special technical features like blended gel inserts and heel counters, while offering a wider range of sizes, particularly for super narrow and super wide feet. In other words, it's got something for everyone, whatever the make of your feet. No wonder it's a hit with celebrities like these:

Ashley Tisdale hit the gym with her New Balance shoes, looking all sporty chic with loose hair, a look graphic tank and Lululemon workout tights. I love the colour combination of her yellow tank top and olive green jacket. Add on a Chanel bag and you've got the perfect workout outfit.

If you're not into crazy brights and prefer to keep things understated with a clean palette of dark, solid colours, then Gwyneth Paltrow's grey top and black sweatpants will do the trick. Her Stella McCartney sunglasses and Goyard bag add to the allure. But to prove that she's not all work and no play, she made her New Balance shoes the scene-stealer with their bright orange laces.

Best known for her diet of pasta and a rocking figure, Modern Family star Sofía Vergara stepped out in her New Balance shoes. Typically seen in heels, the Colombian actress is glamorous even in trainers. With a vibrant turquoise scarf and Louis Vuitton sunglasses, she looks every bit as put together as usual. Who said you always look sloppy in workout clothes?

Yes, you can look cute even in baggy jeans and running shoes, especially when your arm candy - excuse me, baby - is that adorable! Jennifer Garner did some grocery shopping with her younger daughter Seraphina in her New Balance shoes and 7 For All Mankind jeans. Who'd have thought she's the mother of two girls? She doesn't look a day older than 36.

Mila Kunis shows up on the streets with her husband Ashton Kutcher in matching sneakers. Okay, that couple outfit is annoying, but admittedly kind of cute, especially with Mila's megawatt smile and those New Balance 1400 Women's in lime green and turquoise. Looks perfect next to Ashton's orange ones, no?
