Second day of Taipei IN Style brought even more exciting shows and events. The atmosphere at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park remained highly energetic with lots of fashionistas gathering outside the venue, taking pictures and watching their favourite celebrities arrive.

First show of the day, Taiwan Fashion Footwear Runway'15, featured trendy sport shoes by PUHU, colourful leisure footwear by F•KNIT, and elegant wedding shoes by MOMENTANÉE.

With over 27 years of experience in the footwear industry, PUHU produces innovative and unique shoes using the latest technologies that extend durability and ensure the highest level of comfort. Except having their own brand and running four chain stores in Southern Taiwan, PUHU also offers custom-made service which allows you to design your own shoe and get it delivered within 10 working days. How convenient!

Second show of the day, FASHION HONG KONG organised by HKTDC, presented 11 up-and-coming designers. The most memorable collections included b.yu DesignsBLIND by JW, DARE TO DREAM, and #nude made by SUOI.

With their unique designs and familiarity with the market needs, Hong Kong fashion designers have always been in the international fashion focus. Starting in 2015, they are holding runway shows on various international stages, such as Tokyo Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, and Copenhagen Fashion Week. This time, they brought 11 designer brands to Taipei and participated in the much anticipated FASHION HONG KONG runway show.

Meeting Isabelle Wen

One of the definite highlights of the day was meeting the famous Taiwanese designer, Isabelle Wen, and having the opportunity to discuss many interesting subjects. Isabelle described her design process and the source of inspiration behind the AW'15 collection "Return to Forever" and also shared her thoughts about Taiwanese fashion industry and her plans for the future. What an inspiring day!

Between Dream & Reality

One of our favourite Taiwanese designers, Athena Chuang, showcased her "Return to OZ" collection in the evening, just after elegant menswear designs by Italian STEFANEL and Taiwanese Carnival x Kenny Yen.

The new collection featured pixelated embroidery and used rare fabrics and unexpected texture combinations for traditional clothes designs.

"I took silhouette from the film’s Victorian style clothing and nightgowns, and dressed them with silk satin, velvet, lace and colourful stones, as if normal things in daily life all turn into incredible fantasy in our sleep." - said Athena about her Autumn/Winter 2015 collection. - "Return to OZ is a dialogue between dream and reality. (...) With this collection, I would like to invite people back to their childhood imagination."

And she indeed managed to do that!

"Since the reality is so unreal, why not dive into surreality all the way down?" - Athena Chuang
