Welcome to Inglewood! Fashion Studio Magazine selected six fabulous places that you simply can't miss when visiting Calgary.
Inglewood is the city's oldest district, having been established in 1875. It was Calgary's first authentic main street and original downtown. It has retained much of its historic charm.
From fashion boutiques to art galleries, there is something for everyone in this trendy and constantly changing area, which was recently awarded by the Canadian Institute of Planners as “Canada’s Great Neighbourhood for 2014”.
"Today, Inglewood is a vibrant, eclectic and ever-evolving arts and culture-filled district with more than 100 shops, boutiques and eateries attracting locals and tourists alike. (...)
Shop local? Yes indeed! From antique stores to clothing boutiques, contemporary furniture shops to cutting-edge art galleries, one stroll down 9 Ave. S.E. and you'll soon see that the shopping possibilities are truly endless in Inglewood. A far cry from a trip to the mall, Inglewood is home to hundreds of thousands of great buys, unique gift ideas, one-of-a-kind treasures and the best local shopping experience in the city!" - calgary-inglewood.com
Lauren Bagliore

Concept Shop, run by a New York designer Lauren Bagliore, is definitely one of the most inspiring places in Inglewood. Beautiful black & white design of the store compliments Lauren's futuristic pieces and offers an unforgettable glimpse into her fashion universe. A real treat!
"Inspired by elements of art and architecture, with astute attention to draping, tailoring and finish in every piece, the work of Lauren Bagliore combines an edgy modern sensibility while still retaining a romantically reflective femininity.
A New York native, Bagliore graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and immediately began to work with a slew of exceptional fashion brands where she honed skills that prepared her to launch her own brand. Upon graduation, Vivienne Westwood chose Bagliore to travel to London and work at her UK fashion house. After a few years, Bagliore returned to New York and worked for Zac Posen, Libertine and Tod’s as well as freelance work as a buyer and a stylist." - laurenbagliore.com
Most of Lauren's designs are easy to wear and very versatile - you can wear them in several different ways. Have a look at this fabulous black coat below!

You can never underestimate the importance of everyday items...
"Kevin Kent’s fascination with Japanese knives began while he was working as sous-chef for the legendary chef Fergus Henderson at St. John restaurant in London, England. In 2007, he began selling handcrafted Japanese knives out of a backpack on the back of his bicycle, while working as a chef at River CafĂ© in Calgary, Canada.
Since then, Knifewear has expanded to include two Calgary locations, Kelowna, Ottawa, and Edmonton. Kevin opened Kent of Inglewood in 2013 and now has locations in Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa. There are occasional pop-up stores across the country. Plans are also underway to open a store in Vancouver, BC." - knifewear.com

Kent of Inglewood

"At the end of the day, it's the little things that make you truly happy."
Located just across the street from Knifewear, Kent of Inglewood offers a truly unique shopping experience with a dash of humour.
"At Kent of Inglewood, we believe that men are allowed to be just that. Many things are best done the old way, as we value tools and goods that perform their job well, and last a lifetime. Every man should have an excellent axe, a stiff cocktail, and a perfect shave.
Kent of Inglewood is a 100 year old store that opened it's doors in 2014. Our passion is classic shaving, cocktails, axes, and all things fantastic. Every chair should be adorned with rams heads, and every bow tie tied by hand.
Our goal is to provide you with a better life experience. Whether bearded, shaven, or otherwise, we would like you to enjoy what you do. For many, that is shaving with a brush and a proper razor. The mission our staff are tasked with is to find the right gear for you as an individual. If you prefer to keep your proud facial hair, we can help you find the right oil or wax." - kentofinglewood.com
