Welcome to Montreal! The largest city in the province of Quebec is considered to be a fashion capital of Canada and is quickly getting more and more recognition on the international scene. Montreal is home to the largest outdoor Fashion & Design Festival in North America, has a great number of art galleries, breathtaking architecture and rich cultural background. It is consistently rated as one of the world's most livable cities, and in 2006 was named a UNESCO City of Design.
Hotel Omni Mont-Royal (1050 Sherbrooke Street West) located at the foot of Mount Royal is only steps away from trendy boutiques, art galleries, bars and restaurants. Its excellent location and elegant decor make it the perfect choice for both business and leisure travellers.
This luxury hotel offers 299 guest rooms and suites, 11 meeting rooms, 24-hour business centre, fully equipped fitness centre and seasonal outdoor swimming pool with large terrace.

SHOPPING & ART
Montreal's shopping scene is diverse and suitable for every taste, budget and need. Quebec's top designers such as Denis Gagnon and Philippe Dubuc are recognised for trend-setting looks and haute couture inspirations.
Sherbrooke Street West, a must-see destination for all fashionistas, is a posh area lined with art galleries, antique stores and designer boutiques where you can pick up all the latest trends. Hotel Omni Mont-Royal is also minutes away from Montreal's main shopping area: Sainte-Catherine Street.
"Hit Sainte-Catherine Street at high speed as it offers about 15 km of intense shopping ground to cover. You’ll find almost every store imaginable along this main artery, and if that’s not enough, head below the street to the underground pedestrian network where some 1,700 shops open their doors, rain or shine – a great way to escape the elements while shopping your heart out. Sainte-Catherine Street is also home to a few of Canada’s most elegant and upscale department stores for those who love luxury." - Tourism Montreal

The Illuminated Crowd, affectionately referred to by locals as 'the butter people', is one of the many interesting spots to visit. Sixty-five individuals of all ages, races, facial expressions and conditions are portrayed in this sculpture. It was created by Franco-British artist, Raymond Mason and is located just outside the main gate of McGill University. The sculpture illustrates the degradation of the human race and symbolizes the fragility of the human condition.
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) - a must-see attraction of the nearby area - is located on the historic Golden Square Mile stretch of Sherbrooke Street. It is Montreal's largest museum and is amongst the most prominent in Canada.

One of the most interesting fashion parties of 2014, FashiOMNIstas, had its official launch on 27th November. Stylish Alice Bar provided the perfect setting to gather, network and discover new trends in fashion and makeup.
The inaugural event, sponsored by the luxury brands Hudson’s Bay and Clarins cosmetics, attracted a trendy Montreal crowd - from business women and fashion editors to bloggers and local fashionistas. All of them enjoyed delicious snacks, cocktails, and live music by DJ Olivia.
"Fashion lovers and trend seekers will now rejoice in gathering on a weekly basis at the distinguished Alice Bar for a special moment designed around women's desire to have fun learning about the latest while sipping irresistible, yet affordable, signature cocktails", explained Dominique Lapointe, General Manager. "Our historic district is where 70% of Canada's wealth used to live in rich Victorian mansions until the late 1930's. These powerful families made Sherbrooke Street into the Fifth Avenue of Monteral and the heart of Quebec fashion."

During our stay at Omni Mont-Royal, we had the pleasure to meet and talk to Monica Orr, Director of Sales & Marketing. Read our exclusive interview below!
FASHION STUDIO: How would you describe the style and atmosphere of Omni Mont-Royal?
Elegant, relaxing, bright, luxurious with lots of cream colored marble, velvet, thick carpets, rich dark woods: an urban setting inspired by the 70’s since the hotel opened in 1976 for the Montreal Summer Olympics. The atmosphere is also very à la Montréal with the local in the know elements from the French menu in the Petit Opus bistro or with the Scottish theme on Wednesdays at the Alice Bar with the Scottish Follies.
The city’s cultural heritage is intertwined with the food and beverage components and the Golden Square Mile history is available in the Gallery Level, opened to the public, where one can find out about what makes that district so rich and unique. The most important element in making the OMNISPHERE (OMNI/Atmosphere) so special is the absolute warmth, spontaneity, genuine kindness and professionalism of the OMNI team delivering the service.

FASHION STUDIO: What advantages has this hotel over other four star hotels in Montreal?
Location, location, location, a huge health club (3880 sq feet) and a large outside heated pool with terrace (a resort feel in the heart of the city), fabulous meeting flow, only 12 guestroom per floor (a boutique feel while being in a hotel featuring 300 guestrooms). The entirely revamped and fully renovated full service hotel features very large rooms with windows that actually open!!! 23 square feet of absolute ideal meeting space with two remarkable ball rooms. The very appreciated OMNI loyalty program and quality of food and beverage, and accessible yet extremely professional personnel is what makes the hotel unique.
FASHION STUDIO What is the most fashionable suite in the hotel and why?
The presidential suites (2) are of course very unique. Located on the 30th floor they feature 28 feet high ceilings and extraordinary views of the Golden Square Mile area and the Mount Royal Park. Beautifully appointed they are again inspired by the 70’s and are connected to two other units allowing for a 3 unit suite. In the 3002 suite the bedroom is 510 square feet and communicates with a huge marble bathroom (where many movies were shot) with a bath tub that would define more as a small pool… magnificent… and of course a large Italian shower and very long counters.

LIVING IN STYLE
Our Deluxe Room featured comfortable king size bed, a sitting area, a workspace and a spacious Italian marble bathroom. Excellent Mount Royal Park view from our room was the highlight of our stay.
24-hour guest room dining was a convenient option to try local food without leaving the hotel and facing the cold weather outside. French Onion Soup served with a fresh baguette was simply delicious!
We enjoyed fully-equipped fitness centre located on the third floor. To find out more about recreational facilities available at the hotel, please click here.
