Scandinavian footwear brand, Ecco, infuses their every collection with their native approach to life: simplicity. Their design philosophy of less-is-more is a true reflection of their ways and always results in understated, low key but high quality looks. Their spring summer 2015 collection is no different.

In supple premium leathers in shades of dusty pink, blue and beige, the women’s collection is tender, quiet and full of support. Soft Damara booties in a worked leather with contrast leather laces are a bit menswear inspired without ever losing their feminine touch. The v-strap sandals in silver and shades of beige are a criss cross of support in broad bands of nubuck leather with modest heel heights of one to two inches.

The flip side of this collection are the stark black looks in matte and gloss leather - a whirlwind of comfort, style and practicality. The Aimee grey bootie in nubuck leather with a lace up and double buckle front is at first glance the alcatraz of shoes - impossible to get out of - but the side zipper is the wearer’s easy escape.

For this upcoming spring summer season, the Ecco man is seen in versatile, demure and classic looks. The Gary, the male equivalent to the women’s Damara bootie - is a bootie in quality cognac leather with removable leather inlay. Oxfords in soft beige suede are a formal option and the Faro styles are the aristocratic looks of the collection with a Derby shoe in a mahogany leather.

Ecco shoes are never statement shoes. They’re rarely occasion shoes. They’re every day shoes and they’re constructed with that in mind. Quality fabrics, ingenious design, tactical approaches and modern styles - and of course, a heritage brand with full control over the process from beginning to end - are what stand Ecco out from the rest.
