JOHANNESBURG - Organised by African Fashion International (AFI), Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week AFRICA took place from 29 October to 1 November 2014. More than 30 African designers presented their latest collections at Melrose Arch in Joburg, a rapidly changing city and the vibrant heart of South Africa.
"This year, we celebrate how far African fashion has come by bringing together the best design talent from the continent and it's diaspora, who are both rooted in their African identity and reinterpreting it in an internationally relevant way," said AFI Spokesperson, Sizwe Nzimande.
In the meantime, Melrose Arch is becoming Africa's fashion headquarters. Running concurrently with MBFW Africa 2014 was the African Fashion Trade Expo (AFTE), the event presenting Africa’s latest brands and trends while providing networking opportunities for buyers, consumers, and media. Well done!
