TORONTO, March 2014* - What better way to warm up on a bone chilling cold winter day than to preview a summer collection. Outside the Brill Communications building - minus degree celsius weather. Inside the brownstone - cheery, uplifting clothing, throwing me into a fit of hopefulness for summer days. Spring, at the very least. Eugenia Dourakis from Smart Set shared in my enthusiasm for summer as she walked me through their summer collection - ironically, her in a fur vest and me, still in my winter jacket and chunky knit scarf.

This was a collection for all summer with an offering of black and white separates, polka dots and all; miami whites and soft neons with billowing tanks, and the crush worthy eyelet; and quintessential nautical with textbook stripes and reds, whites, and blues.

I could see myself now in their black and white tiled capris and polka dot blouse at work, in their elastic banded waist boho pants and light knit top lounging at a coffee shop with friends, in their light gray denim and mock crop top on a first date, in their eyelet tank and jean skirt running errands, in their floral bomber strolling Harbourfront, in their boyfriend jeans and red short sleeve knit with gladiator sandals at a music festival, and in their nautical sweaters and bermuda shorts sailing the open water.

Summer is the time where we are all out and about and life springs back into action. You need something to wear for those magical days of summer. No better time than the present to get that wardrobe a’revving!
