Toronto, ON – The Canadian Alliance of Film & Television Costume & Arts Design (CAFTCAD) celebrates the 13th season of their bi-annual Movie Wardrobe Sale (MWS) on Saturday, May 31st at Pinewood Toronto Studios at 225 Commissioners Street from 9am – 5pm.

Over 1,000 attendees are expected to take advantage of the resourcefulness of Toronto’s wardrobe departments to hunt through thousands of items, many of which are deeply discounted up to 95% off retail and have been used in local film and television productions.

Started in 2008, MWS now boasts over 30 vendors selling a range of items from contemporary and vintage clothing and accessories used in film and television productions as well as designer samples, wardrobe supplies, handcrafted goods, props, books, and more. Aside from wardrobe items, a number of notable vendors will also be selling their new and vintage wares, including Gangbar Winslade, 69 Vintage, Mizdragonfly, Wild Things Vintage, and Life of Manekwhose fashion truck will be making its first appearance at the sale.

This is the public’s opportunity to own a piece of film and television history. In previous years, available wardrobe items from film and television productions from the likes of Hairspray, Covert Affairs, Degrassi, Land of the Dead, My Babysitter’s A Vampire, Flash of Genius, and many more and been available for sale.

Admission is $5 cash per person at the door, with free admission to CAFTCAD members, children and seniors. Partial proceeds from the admission fees go toward the Actor’s Fund of Canada; with remaining profits benefitting CAFTCAD initiatives, such as educational seminars, costume exhibits, and events; including the annual CAFTCAD Celebrates Costumes in Film and Television - which takes place during the Toronto International Film Festival. Attendees should bring cash (though there is an ATM on site) and their own reusable bags to continue to keep costs down for future seasons.
