ALL EYES ON  EUROPE

Being a global leader in fashion and modernity, European design is highly sought after in South America. Seen as elegant, experimental, and cosmopolitan, European brands are very attractive to the Latin American market. Furthermore, the fact that the seasons are opposite, makes a perfect opportunity for brands to extend and replicate their sales strategies and make more profitable investments in both design and production.

BOOMING MARKET

The change that was triggered in the Southern Cone by the economic growth, the rising in purchasing power, the opening of a global market, and the developments in technology caused the fashion industry and the Latin American retail to experience great advances and its textile markets to expand commercially.

In the upcoming months, the arrival of new European and American brands – that have seen in Chile the chance to expand their market to Latin America – is expected. Those brands are yearning to learn from this market, which is the most competitive and developed one from that region of the world. Currently, 80% of the brands sold in Chile are from abroad.

This expansion comes along with a growth rate in the GDP of these countries that exceeds 5% and the companies’ strong investment plans caused the area’s total sales to increase of 30%, between 2010 and 2012, and the retail’ revenues of 13%.

The IFS’s multidisciplinary team is made up of Spanish and Latin American fashion professionals with extensive experience in the distribution and marketing of international brands both in Europe and South America. The first edition of IF’S Chile is the perfect platform for the companies who wish to enter the Latin American market.
