I’ll huff and I’ll Bustle, and I’ll blow this house down! The colourful shore side homes depicted on the screen that is. Seemingly straight from the shores of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, designers Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow were in fact inspired by Scandinavian longshoremen and the imagery shining on the main screen set the inspiration in motion.
Emerging from backstage was a palette of tried tested and true colours of navy, green, red, grey and black and in true Bustle form, a pop of an unexpected - this case, a funky medium purple that materialized in shirts and pants.
We saw classic plaid shirts, cable knit drawstring pants and shawl collared sweaters. A top and pant duo in matching black cable knit was the epitome of cozy. The rubber boots on the feet of models wearing their key black quilted fabric was perfect for a rainy day, as was the navy pull over rain jacket.
Red plaid lining on a trench coat and jean jacket jacked up their appeal. The forest green skinny pants and blue and black denim were a perfect male fit and paired well with the notch collared jackets in navy and black cable knit.
All in all, it was fisherman friendly meets apres ski meets work appropriate meets babeliscious. Who wants to move to a Scandinavian shore community with me?

My words alone will not this collection justice. It was one of romance, showing all of its light and airy, dark and mysterious sides.
To the starting beat of Chris Malinchak’s So Good to Me, the models seemingly floated down the runway in soft creams, foggy blues, silky neutrals, upscale browns and greys, and many shades of red.
The first look is a large lapeled ivory jacket over top a white button down top and flared silk cream - maybe even light pink - pants; pants that could potentially pass as pajama pants. They were also in burgundy and an earthy purple.
A few other soft ivory jackets made their way with silk pencil skirts and skinny fitted pants. After which, the darker and richer browns and burgundy’s began to show.
A buttonless dark grey-brown coat covering a streamlined monochromatic shirt and pant was a great every day look. Red silk pants with a chocolate brown sweater over top a grey turtle neck snuggled inside a black lapeled jacket was a testament to winter’s layering.
While mostly a solid colour blocked collection, they did use this seismic striped wool fabric in a trio and duo of red, black and grey as well as brown and black.
It was romantic, dreamy, rich, city chic, classy and appropriate and truly a collection to get lost in.
