LISBON - Taking part in Lisbon Fashion Week SS 2014 in October was one of our 2013 highlights. The event was well-organized, fresh and inspiring. A special thank you to ModaLisboa for inviting Fashion Studio Magazine to participate in this exciting event!

TOP 3 SHOWS

Spring/Summer 2014 collection presented by Dino Alves was a pleasant surprise. The Lisbon-based designer showed very creative and consistent looks featuring asymmetric cuts, geometric silhouettes, and edgy accessories.

The colour palette ranged from white, grey, beige and lavender to bolder colours such as turquoise and bright red. What we really liked about this collection was the combination of plain fabrics with distinctive check patterns and effortless playing with colours. Our favourite items included silver shorts and a long dress in a shade of light blue-grey with flattering red details down the front.

Miguel Vieira Spring/Summer 2014 (ModaLisboa / Photography: Rui Vasco)

Miguel Vieira Spring/Summer 2014 collection, shown on the second day of Lisbon Fashion Week, was not only very chic and ultra feminine, but also featured a lot of interesting details: beautiful embellishments, vivid prints developed by the designer's studio, and fresh colour palette.

From black & white to delicate pastels and intensive cobalt blue, Miguel Vieira presented classic silhouettes with a modern twist. The main inspiration for this collection came from the need of filling the gap between Past and Present. The Portuguese designer wanted to create a new modern look that would combine structured forms with clean lines and the softness of pastels with the austerity of black. The final effect is truly mesmerizing!

Our favourite designs included low cut dresses and asymmetric tops that can be worn for many different occasions and don't need a lot of accessories for a stand-out, stylish appeal.

Nuno Baltazar Spring/Summer 2014 (ModaLisboa / Photography: Rui Vasco)

The closing show - by an iconic designer Nuno Baltazar - was a memorable ending to the intensive three days in Lisbon, filled with runway shows, interviews, and fashion parties.
