TORONTO - Art of Fashion, the annual design competition for Canada’s rising fashion talent, took place at Sudbury 99 on Friday, September 27th, 2013. Young designers had an opportunity to showcase their work to the public and take part in a fashion show attended by the local press and the panel of judges. The event was hosted by Glen Baxter and included a live performance by Bellwoods.
This year's theme, Past Behaviour, encouraged the designers to look for inspiration in the past decades and create modern versions of their favourite looks; adapt the past to the present.
The designers are competing for two awards: Most Promising Designer (decided by industry judging panel) and Best Exhibit (voted by the public). The winner will be announced at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) on October 18.
