AMSTERDAM - The catwalk programme of the 19th edition of Amsterdam Fashion Week started on Friday the 12th of July with shows by SIS by Spijkers en Spijkers and MaryMe-JimmyPaul. The opening – and this edition’s entire catwalk programme – was dedicated to talent and innovation, in both commerce and design. Until Tuesday the 16th of July, many young Dutch designers and established labels will show their collections to (inter)national fashion professionals. Everyone can watch the shows live via www.amsterdamfashionweek.com and via free App, developed by principal partner Vodafone.
“As always, Spijkers en Spijkers has showed a well-balanced collection. The sisters take you on a journey to the sixties of Brigitte Bardot; it is fresh and summery”, said programme director of Amsterdam Fashion Week Carlo Wijnands. “With SIS they again prove to be skilled at translating their extreme creativity into a ready-to-wear collection, while upholding their well-known handwriting. Spijkers en Spijkers forms a source of inspiration to other Dutch fashion designers.”
