SINGAPORE - Get ready for an exciting event UT POP-UP! coming to Singapore this May. The first UT POP-UP! started at Tokyo's Shibuya Station on 28 March 2013, and continues across all UNIQLO's major markets such as UK, U.S, Paris and Taiwan. Here in Singapore, UT POP-UP! will run for two days only from 4 to 5 May 2013, so this global event is not to be missed!

UT POP-UP! SINGAPORE will take place at 72-13, a rice warehouse and a cultural relic of early Singapore, now converted into a destination for art galleries, cinema and theatre. A large scale display installation of UT designs will be the centrepiece at this event, showcasing all-time favourites such as Star Wars, Andy Warhol, Coca Cola, Pixar and National Geographic. Guests can also look forward to yet-to-be-released UTs which will be made available at this event.

"UTs are an expression of who you are, where you've been and what you love. With a myriad of UT designs released each year, customers will always find one that perfectly expresses their personality. Through UT POP-UP!, we aim to reinforce UTs as part of the fabric of Singapore's culture and lifestyle,"commented Mr Onoguchi Satoshi, Managing Director of UNIQLO Singapore.

There is an array of exciting activities waiting for you!
  • Browse and purchase a wide display of all-time favourite as well as yet-to-be-released UTs;
  • Take part in the UT Camera booth, where your animated photos will be uploaded onto a dedicated UT POP-UP website
  • Explore creative works by local emerging photographers and designers
  • Enjoy performances by local budding bands
  • Enjoy special discounts when you purchase UTs at the event - simply by wearing a UT and posing for the UT Camera

The Singapore edition of UT POP-UP! offers an additional element unlike other countries: it promotes local talents by collaborating with budding artists from Noise Singapore by offering them a platform to showcase their works. In fact, all proceeds from the sales of specially designed T-shirts by local designers will be channelled to Transmission - an experimental incubatory platform organised by PHUNK. Transmission is supported by Noise Singapore, while Noise Singapore is an initiative of the National Arts Council.
