BANGKOK - Over the last couple of years, Bangkok has become one of the leading cities in Southeast Asia when it comes to agriculture, tourism and manufacturing industry. And while it is great to live in a city that is constantly developing, everything comes with a price tag. It is now an everyday reality to see people living more busy and stressful lives, working long hours and gradually assimilating themselves with commune’s conformity just to make money and scrape by every single day.
But what if you had a special day just to yourself and you could get pampered by a professional massage therapist in a charming tropical garden? Wouldn’t that be great?
Situated at Sukhumvit 31, Oasis Spa is one of the finest places where you can experience the ultimate spa treatment. The spa, founded by Toby Allen and Pakin Ployphicha in 2003, started with only one branch in Chiang Mai, but due to the continuing success, there are now nine branches all over Thailand including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket. Hiding yourself within a colonial style building with waterfalls and exotic orchids is such a great way to slow down and rejuvenate your senses. Located only 10 minutes from BTS Skytrain, the Oasis Spa will make you feel absolutely relieved from daily stress and pressure of a busy modern lifestyle.

I had been to many spas in Bangkok before, but I had never felt so much privacy and tranquility until I entered this distinguished spa. Within the concept of “a spa in a garden”, its decoration is very unique yet it maintains a cultural ambience of the “Thai-Lanna vibe”. Besides, their treatments and service-minded attitude are beyond words. “Treatments created by combining the best of ancient Thai traditional medicine and herbal secrets with advanced discoveries in beauty and wellness.” - as Oasis Spa describes them.
This luxurious spa provides a variety of traditional Thai massages and treatments. For instance, hot compress, coffee scrub, head massage and oil massage. The treatment which was kindly offered to me during my visit on Friday, 28 December 2012, was Oasis Four Hands Massage, known as one of the spa’s signatures. While my two massage therapists were gently massaging my body, I felt all my stress and backache was gradually relieved. It was truly an hour long heavenly moment because I could totally release my daily tension by lying on a comfy bed, listening to the music and having someone stretched my muscles.

“Two working together accomplish far more than two performing separately,” so imagine dual therapists working with all four hands in harmony massaging fragrant oil over your body in blissful, synchronized waves. During this multi-hand massage, therapists use long soothing strokes but at times intertwine their hands to produce motions that cause the body to resonate with multiple sensations.” (Source: Oasis Spa)
Also, there is an open-air shower and a steamer outside the private room. Trust me, nothing is better then gently relaxing in a warm bath-tub after a superior massage treatment… But you can also leave the aromatherapy oil to be absorbed into your skin right after, since it is made from Thai herbs and other 100% natural products.

Spas were originally created to provide people with a great escape from the crowded and bustling urbanization, however, over the past decades, the industry has quickly spread to almost every corner. Easing up at Oasis Spa can be a very memorable experience since you can embrace yourself with the real Thai atmosphere and Lanna style surroundings.
Come and experience revitalizing treatments yourself and you will know why I recommend the Oasis Spa as one of the utmost proficient spas in town.
