SINGAPORE - The 2nd night of French Couture Week 2012 (and the 5th day of Fide Fashion Weeks) featured catwalk shows of three excellent Haute Couturiers: Christophe Josse, Gustavo Lin and Alexis Mabille. All three designers made their debut in Singapore last year at French Couture Week Singapore.

Christophe Josse collection titled “Opulently Uncluttered” mesmerized the audience. His elegant and minimalistic designs reminded the work of a Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the basis of the designer's Autumn/Winter 2012 line. The colour palette was very calm and toned down, mainly white, cream beige and black. The clothes were accompanied by simple hair and makeup and stylish gold accessories - flat sandals, statement rings, belts and necklaces.

Gustavo Lins presented both womenswear and menswear collections that were simple and highly-wearable. New sculpted shapes and draping techniques used for jackets and shirts showed mastery in the execution of designer's craft. What we really liked were the long leather gloves, stylish blue fur and unique jewellery that complimented the look.

Alexis Mabille showed feminine dresses and gowns in luxe fabrics such as velvet, silk and organza. The collection was very versatile and featured a rich colour palette- from classic black to sparkling silver and vibrant red. The closing show was a real feast for the eyes.
