NEUTRAL BROWNS

Street fashion from Seoul, South Korea, captured by a travel photographer Alexandre Bento Freire. All photos were taken in Insadong and Myeongdong district. Brown and beige are perfect to combine with other colours and they both look neat and sophisticated. They are easy to wear and are suitable for many occasions.

ABOUT BROWN COLOUR

Brown is a natural, down-to-earth neutral colour. It is found in earth, wood, and stone. Brown means stability, reliability, and approachability and is often associated with all things natural or organic.

  • The Japanese do not have a specific word for brown. Rather, they use more descriptive names such as “tea-color," "fox-color," and "fallen-leaf.”
  • In India, brown is the colour of mourning because it resembles dying leaves.
  • American Indians believe the colour brown represents the power of self-discipline.
