Italian Fashion Week is a Toronto based event celebrating the artistry of Italian fashion and presenting some of Italy's finest brands. Moda Danza - Art in Motion took place in a Glass Factory on Thursday, April 14, 2011.
A unique event showcasing an exquisite fashion in a spectacular way, combined two worlds together: fine fashion and contemporary dance. The show was full of passion and emotions, creative and artistic - something very different from the usual catwalk shows. An excellent performance by talented dancers from Pro Arte Danza, great choreography and interesting concept behind the show made it a very successful event. The performance, filmed by Fashion Television, was followed by a cocktail party.
Fashion has always been an important part of Italian culture and society. Milan - Italy's centre of design - is considered the true fashion capital of the world, next to Paris, London, New York and Tokyo. Some of the most influential designers and fashion houses come from Italy: Armani, Gucci, Valentino, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio Pucci, Ferragamo, Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Miu Miu, Laura Biagiotti, Max Mara, Fendi, Moschino, Missoni, Benetton, Bottega Veneta - to name just a few.
